Clemson transfer Asa Thomas commits to Bob Richey and the Furman Paladins
Furman received long awaited transfer portal news this afternoon, as Clemson transfer Asa Thomas announced his commitment to the program. Thomas visited campus a little over two weeks ago, putting on a good showing during his time there before publicly locking in his commitment today. He will bring three years of eligibility with him from his time at Clemson.
Thomas will provide even more length to a tall Furman squad, as well as knockdown shooting from three. Thomas redshirted his freshman year and played in 12 games for the Tigers last season, with limited minutes. He had pedigree out of high school as a three star recruit, receiving offers from Wisconsin, Marquette, Illinois, and Iowa among others.
The Illinois native set single season and career records for made threes, and shot over 38% on the Under Armor circuit his senior year. Asa was also voted to the first-team All-Illinois twice during his high school career. It will be exciting to see the improvement he will enjoy during his time with Furman.
